During his acting career at Wilbraham & Monson Academy, Moonsu "Jackson" Kang '20 has stepped onto the stage at Founders Theatre for key roles in multiple musicals.
Last weekend, Jackson looked to improve his acting skills on a different stage – one of the most famous stages in the world.
Jackson attended the Broadway Student Summit in Manhattan April 13-14, capping the workshop by attending the musical "Hamilton."
At Pearl Studio, Jackson attended workshops led by Broadway actors and directors, as well as college professors who teach the various aspects of acting. The workshops included the topics of acting, auditioning, dancing, freestyle rap and vocal training.
Four actors and actresses from "Hamilton" gave a panel discussion to the students before everyone went to a matinee on April 14, where Jackson sat in an orchestra seat.

Jackson on what he learned from the workshop: "I enjoyed meeting people from everywhere – Los Angeles, Florida, Nevada. It was cool to meet all those people. And I learned if I want something to just go for it – that was one of the quotes."
Jackson on seeing Hamilton: "The performance was really good. It's a different style of musical because others are normally melody singing, while this was a Hip Hop musical. The younger generation enjoys it, and the older generations also enjoy it. It was really good, and their acting was awesome. The actor who played King George, his acting was awesome."
