Wilbraham & Monson Academy student Alexa Lafond '18 wrote a song that she later performed at the annual WMA Spring Concert.

The song, titled "Time Flies," was inspired by Alexa's upcoming graduation in May of 2018. Alexa shared that it took her approximately two days to write the lyrics to an existing recording of a guitar melody.

December 2017 was the time when Alexa discovered her ability to write music and started recording her own pieces.

Alexa emphasized the role of Barry Kingston, her co-writer, in her musical career. As, although, Alexa has been a singer for her "whole life" before they started working together, she never wanted to pursue music or couldn't even imagine herself writing her own piece of music. However, Alexa is planning to release four of her recorded compositions before her graduation.

In the near future, Alexa is planning to send her recordings to several recording companies to try to get a recording deal. In college, Alexa wants to engage in music and will possibly minor in it.
